How about when you light a fire using firewood, in order to keep cooking you will need to keep stalking the firewood into the fire until the food is ready.

When you get a glass of juice, some of the contents seems to be at the bottom of the glass, therefore when you stir it blends in well and you get to enjoy all the flavors in that glass of juice.

Sometimes unless something is stirred, then are you able to know its real taste or flavor.

The Holy Spirit

We receive the Holy Spirit when we repent and receive Christ as our personal savior by faith. Acts 2:38-39. The Holy spirit is the one that gives us power to carry out the great commission Acts 1:7.

The Holy Spirit is the promise of not being left as orphans when Jesus Christ ministry on earth had come to an end. John 14:26-27. It is out of the Holy Spirit that we bear fruit Galatians 5:22-23 and it is out of the Holy spirit that we each receive spiritual gifts accorded to us as God wills.

How then do we stir up our spirit?
Reading the word of God Joshua 1:9 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then it will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

Even as we are not to boast because it is not about us but to remember that we are Gods workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them, Ephesians 2:10.

The Holy Spirit in us gives us the power to carry out the great commission and also help us to bear fruit as well as use our spiritual gifts accorded to us. Therefore this keeps us stirred up in the spirit and the joy of Christ is completed in us serving God is no longer a struggle but full of joy and love. It becomes a lifestyle.

Stirring up of the spirit grants us a walk in the journey of salvation that is worthy of the calling you have been called Ephesians 4: 1-3 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace.
