Government asked to revoke tittle deeds in Kilifi South

More than 2000 families residing in government lands at Kijipwa in Kilifi south sub-county are now asking the National Land Commission to revoke land title deeds issued in the area and start a fresh investigation into the real owners of the land.

Nicholas Mrima who is a Land activist in the area says, land disputes over the more than 450 acre piece of land started since 1982 and has not been settled despite their efforts in the courts.

Mrima accused some government officials claiming that they are behind the discourse as they accumulated pieces of land in the area during president’s Moi leadership, a move that has led to the increase of the number of squatters in the area.

Addressing Journalists in the area, Mtepeni Ward MCA Victor Mwaganda called on the national government and county government to investigate the matter and reclaim the land to the residents.
