Government refutes claims of sidelining families involved in terror on issuance of IDs

The ministry of civil registration has refuted claims that its officers are sidelining families that are linked with terror in the ongoing registration of national identity cards.

According to Aggrey Masai, a chief officer at the coast in the ministry of Civil registration, her officers are supposed to register and issue Identity cards regardless of the family or state of the people in the community and if such things do happen then legal ways are to be followed for them to proceed with registration exercise.

Masai also urged families with the same problem to visit their offices for help in order to ensure every Kenyan citizen is registered.

Earlier last week several families in Mombasa complained being put aside in the registration exercise urging that some of their family members are connected to some terror attacks in Kenya.
